COMBIPLAST case erecting and bag inserting technology

The Combiplast is a remarkable concept. A co-creation of two proven techniques from two different manufacturers brought together by Lantech Engineers into one machine. An integration of the Lantech modular case erector with the Niverplast technique for placing a pre-fabricated bag into an erected case.

EASY-OPEN Pre-fabricated bags

The Easy-Open pre-fabricated bags are made by Niverplast or their licensed partners. By using the Easy-Open pre-fabricated bags you can focus on your core activities rather than on bag making activities. The base seal of the bag or liner is of paramount importance to the integrity of the pack. With the Easy-Open pre-fabricated bag system, this seal is guaranteed by the bag manufacturer.

Combiplast case erector and bag inserter

  • Ideal for packing of bulk goods, moist products or products that are not allowed to dry out.
  • Typical products are meat, fish, vegetables, bread, rolls, fat, butter, margarine but also for electronic components, powders, lids and closures
  • The stainless steel version of the Combiplast is ideally suited for the packaging of fish, shell-fish, meat and meat products, and pre-sliced vegetables.
  • Capacity 12 to 14 cases per minute, depending on case height

Advantages

  • Low level case blanks magazine can hold up to 200 case blanks
  • Pre-fabricated bags which are made for you to a very high standard
  • The bag magazine consist of 2 compartments, each can hold up to 300 bags. When the 1st compartment has been filled, it automatically rotates 180 degrees so that the 2nd compartment can be filled. Therefore no production stop.
  • The bag magazine can hold a total of 600 bags
  • Pre-packed bundle of bags can be placed quickly and simply into the magazine (1-2 minutes) from the outside without stopping the machine or production
  • Complete size change over (case bag) takes 6-7 minutes

Summary of Mode of Operation Combiplast

Case blanks are placed in the low-level magazine of the machine. A case blank is picked off the magazine by the unique Rembrandt hinged vacuum suction frame. Then the short and long flaps are folded in after which the vacuum of the suction cups is switched off.

A pusher bar moves the erected case to the closing section where the sealing of the bottom flaps with self-adhesive tape commences. Halfway the sealing, an arm with vacuum suction cups picks up a pre-fabricated bag from the bag-magazine. A spreading device opens up the bag whilst a guide plate moves down into the now opened bag to support it during its downward movement into the erected case. The spreading device now places the bag in the case and folds the upper part of the bag over the top flaps of the case. The case with bag is now moved out of the Combiplast – completing the taping of the case -and the erecting and inserting cycle recommences.

The Vario-Seal bag sealing machine

  • The Vario-Seal bag sealing machine
  • The Vario-Seal fully automatically closes and seals bags in crates, trays, baskets, boxes, cases or buckets.
  • Alternatively the Vario-Seal will only fold the bag.
  • The Vario-Seal can handle almost any type of film material.
  • The patented Niverplast bag closing technology contributes considerably to the protection of your product – this is very important for companies where hygiene (HACCP) is essential.

Mode of Operation 
A case / tray / crate with a filled bag is fed to the motor driven infeed belt conveyor section of the Vario-Seal where it is held back by a stop gate until the case in the bag sealing position has had its filled bag sealed. There are two stop gates inside the machine. When the bag has been sealed, the second stop gate drops to let the case move out towards the case closing machine. Then the first stop gate is dropped, allowing the next case into the bag sealing position where it is held by the second stop gate and the bag sealing cycle begins.
When the case / tray / crate is in position,it is lifted up towards the bag sealing assembly. The filled bag is now stretched horizontally to the acceptable limit presenting only two layers of film for sealing. The sealing bars are moved against the tightly held top side of the bag and then seal it. The bag is released and the tray lowered after which it exists the machine.
Maximum speed for standard Vario-Seal is 10 cases / trays per minute.

Random option
As an option the Vario-Seal can handle cases or trays of different dimensions presented at random at a maximum speed of up to 8 per minute.

MAP option
As an option the Vario-Seal can be equipped with the MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) option to vacuumise and gasflush the product (red meat, white meat (chicken) inside the bag.
This option consists of a special bag sealing assembly with a heavy duty vacuum pump and vacuum and gas lances.
Maximum speed is then 4 cases / trays per minute
